CURRICULUM VITAE

De Brabander Hubert was born on May, 21 1946 in Ghent, Belgium.
He promoted as Licentiate (Master, 1968) 
and Doctor in Chemistry (PhD, 1974)
and as Licentiate (Master, 1974) in Environmental Sciences at Ghent University.
He promoted also as "Geaggregeerde for the Higher Education"
(former highest University diploma ; =  a second PhD) in Analytical Chemistry of Food in 1984.

In 2003 he promoted also as Doctor in Veterinary Sciences.

He started his carrier in the Faculty of Sciences, Ghent University in 1968
 and switched later to the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (1973).
He was full professor in the department of Veterinary Public Health & Food Safety
(head of department 2004-2011) and director of the laboratory of chemical analysis of food (LCA, 1986 -2011).

His most intense area of research and scientific service to the community is
 the analysis of residues of veterinary drugs and illegal growth promoters.
He is author or co author of more than 150 scientific publications and technical rapports,
member of different scientific societies, working groups and committees.
He was a.o. member of the board of Ghent University.
He was also dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (2006-2011).

At present, he is retired, but still adviser to the vice-chancellor of GHENT UNIVERSITY.
He is pro-president of scientific societies in the area of Food as KVCV Food Division and BAMST.

He is member of the board, and honorary president  of Quality Control, a consumer label.
